Who are you?

Who am I and why am I here? That is the question many of us have. Some go look for it in all the wrong places such as discos, clubs, friends that enjoys having a 'lekker tyd' and still don't know who they actually are.

Those that knows me since primary years will remember me as a very quiet girl. They called me shy and quiet. On the other hand I excelled very well on school through this quietness. Growing older and attending High School I was still regarded as the quiet and sweet one. It however have placed a expectation that I cannot do anything wrong and should not step out of line. 

Well away from home whilst staying on a Hostel during High School you some how want to experiment also because now you were out of sight. Even though you experiment with alcohol and clubbing you just somehow know that this is not for you. Still somehow you keep on going back. 

This is how patterns and cycles are formed and before you know it you are addicted without you realising it. Curiosity can lead you astray when you do not know who you are. 

Therefore it is so important to raise your children now already in the fear of the Lord and encouraging them to have a relationship with Jesus Christ from a very young age. 

I knew about Jesus, attended Sunday School, attended youth, but I was more afraid of God whenever I did something wrong and that was religion. 

God our Father is a loving God because He created us. He created us to live for Him. We are His creature and made in His image. He is the ultimate Creator and through Jesus Christ we can restore our relationship with our Creator, God.

Restored in your identity ultimately results into your purpose  being awakened. Over the years I have realised that when we move from the secret place and not making it a priority, you loose your own creativity and start to copy others. But that is not what God wants. 

He wants to meet you where you are in order to start to show you the reason He has you created you. The problem that you need to solve. 

You don't have to explore all the sinful things in the world before giving your 'Yes' to Jesus. He wants to do life with you Now. Not tomorrow maybe. 

Each one of us have a unique purpose as pre-destined by God Himself. And you can only discover it by sitting with God and prioritizing time in the secret place. Return to your first love to move out of the confusion.

The labels given to me and to you back then in our youth is not what God is saying about us. 

He made me to be bold, courageous and walking in authority of Jesus Christ.

Lets give Him our  Yes and see how He shows us mighty and great things He can do with and through you. 

I am not who the world says I am but who God had called me to be. 

1 Pet 2:9

 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

How it started

As I am walking through the Xairu Foundation, Lekker Restaurant, Retail Shop, Arts & Crafts, Events it brings so much memories back.

In my youth days this building was just Oom Tommie 's restaurant and the building next door was the Tourism building. Now the Tourism building is named The Ateljee. So many things have changed but the memories is still fresh. Next to the Tourism office was also a Library.

In the early days of the Suurbraak library we would visit it almost everyday. We enjoyed reading so much. I believe it have helped me alot in my shoolwork. 

Today I still love reading and writing down my thoughts. I remember I use to prepare so well for our prepared speeches on High School and I would tell myself I deserve a good mark. But usually I never got what I expected. 

Still I hold on to the dream of delivering well prepared speeches. One day I will come back and deliver my best speech. 

I encourage parents to motivate their children to read more. To fall in love with reading as it helps with studying and most importantly to dream. 

Books give you the oppertunity to dream and visualize. So don't neglect helping children to read and dream. 

I'm forever thankful for Sister Maggy who assisted me back than to join Chrysalis Academy, Tokai when she still worked at the Tourism office. She is such a lovely person. Full of grace and the love of God.

I pray that other young people come across their own Sis Maggy who forms part of the tapestry of our beautiful life stories set out by God our Father. 

Seeing the young people at the Xairu Foundation Youth participating in games and having so much fun brings so much joy to my heart as my daughter can now form part of this day amongst the children of Suurbraak. 

To show her where I grew up and how we enjoyed life here. She had so much fun and another memory is planted. This is long-lasting impact.

Against all Odds

Listen... The journey of prayer.

I remember 10yrs ago when I gave my heart to Jesus the love I grew into spending time in the word, reading the Bible. Waking up every day at 5h00 to pray consistently. The war prayers for others. How God just shows up when we show up constently. 

Resist the devil and he will flee. Draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you. Mag God enlighten my Spirit to stay longer in His presence every day.

Remain in Christ. Let His word remain in you. To will bear much fruit. 

Dear daughter

I remember so clearly the day when I was nudge by HOLY spirit to pray earnestly. I just obeyed and fiercely prayed there in the room of our flat. I afterwards realised I had to pray as there was an attacked on you being formed in my womb in the spirit. But God He is faithful. 

I started praying over you whilst in my womb and the day we discovered we are pregnant was the most joyful day of our lives.

🌞You are God's masterpiece. 

☀️You are His wonderful thought. 

🌹You are His delicate flower. 

You are my grace and therefore the name you carry today.

Young mother, wife, pray as

Holy Spirit urge you to pray always for your unborn child and children you are having already. Pray as you are planning to have children and cover your womb with the blood of Jesus. 

🙏The prayer of a righteous person avail much.

What is the problem you must solve?

I am once again still awake. It is 12h34, meaning it is Wednesday morning already. The 7th January 2026. I am having an unease on my stomach that I just can't explained. I have doom scrolled again and I can just kick myself. How is it that you know you suppose to do something but still don't. Or you must not do something and still you do. 

My prayer this year is to have a discerning eye and ear for the things of God only. Lord may I never get so caught up in the past relationships hurt. Lord may I be aligned with Your will for my life.

I always hear you have to solve a problem that only you can solve. I am expectant Lord to hear and see. I do not want to leave 2026 without knowing those problems. May the Holy Spirit be my helper. 

I know it is part of my book I am writing this year. Super excited for it to be launch this year in Jesus Name. 

You have all you need

We live in a world where we want things to happen now!! We watch and scroll through our phones until who knows when and watch other people's lifes. Wishing you can have what they have. Do what they do. But we can't have what they have or do what they do.

Life will really be boring if we would be all the same and also doing the same things. God is a God who is creative. He made us in His image and He bestowed His creativity within us. It's just a matter of time that you tap into that greatness hidden within you. 

You are enough. You are loved. You are beautiful. You are talented. You have all you need.

You will be surprise how people actually watch you and envy what you have whilst you want what others have. 

You will start to see the things they start to do by copying what you do, buying the same things you bought. This can be as simple as the same car, same couches or even clothes. It's ridiculous how some you thought are rooting for you actually are in competition with you. 

What make it worse is that over time it is revealing itself and now you understand the distance, the sudden quietness, just viewing and watching from a distance. That's scary. 

We can only love, pray and wish them well and in the meantime be all God wants you to be because you are enough. 

You are perfect as you are. Be the main character in your own story but never forget to make Jesus Christ your priority nr 1 in your life. Make Him your best friend.. After all He knows you best.
