Oom Buck se kind

I am so proud of myself. Maybe that sounds prideful but if you knew my story you would also be. I will leave that tale for another day. For now it's about my Dad. I am the the first born of oom (Buck) Aubrey. 

I am proud to be the daughter of oom Buck as everyone in my town knows him. He is oom Buck who worked on the sea. He brought fish from far and he will sell it to the community as part of his income and reward. Eventhough most of the times it will be given to friends, families, neighbors or strangers for free. That is the type of man he is. He has a heart of giving. He likes to say, 'gee vir die mense Sintie'and than if my mom takes too long will give it himself.

I celebrate my father today not because it is his birthday or father's day but because I took the time to really see who he is, what he invested in me, what he sacrificed, what he still try to do and where he comes from. Yes I may not have all the answers yet but I'm excited to discover more and more.

I realise he had his own struggles and still he pushed through to give us a good life! He also made sure we  were clothed, fed and taken care of.  That is something we can really be proud of. We never went hungry to bed. We never did not have christmas clothes. In fact he will make sure he also has his own Christmas clothes. 

This makes me realise even more that my dad is human. He has challenges, difficulties and struggle with it but that does not make him any less human. Sometimes we are so busy looking on the surface that we miss the foundations. He likes saying that there can never be two captains on a ship. One must get off. Meaning if you are in an argument with someone, one need to submit to the other or be the better one. In our house it simply meant he is the captain and we must obey. That is how it must be. Obeying our parents can take us far.

" Honor your father and your mother so that you may have a long life in the land that the Lord your God is giving you". Exodus 20:12

I dream of spending more precious time with him, to allow him to enjoy the fruit of his hard labor over these years. May I be granted the oppertunity by God's grace to invest into his life with love, grace and mercy so that we grow together into the things the Lord wants us to see and to discover whilst pursuing His will.

Embrace every season!

There are times in our lives when we do not have it all figured out. We plan and than it do not work out according to our expectations. We wait and hope and wonder when will the answer come.

So indulged in the outcome that is anticipated and not seeing what the season we find ourselves in intends to teach us. Often these times are growing, building and shaping  us and if we are not open to being taught we might just miss it all. 

Being so focused on when that thing will happen that is expected can make you miss the little mandane moments on a daily basis. The fact that someone says thank you for encouraging them with a scripture from the Bible or just excited for a monthly devotion being shared makes life so much more exciting and precious.

Be so focused on being the beacon of hope and encouragement to others that you loose track of what you are waiting for. Before you know it that thing you are waiting for will be working itself out just the way it is suppose to work out. 

In the meantime continue with motivating others as it motivates yourself first. Being focused on discovering the meaning of life and your God ordained purpose brings new perspectives into the light. It's not so much of when  it will happen what you expect but rather what I am gaining, observing, learning and receiving from daily experiences with those I come in contact with. 

It brings so much joy to your heart and soul when someone comes and acknowledge what difference your are bringing to their lives. That is worth living for! Following your heart and speak as instructed and ordained by my Father God. May this be the beginning of much discoverings of precious treasures that are hidden amongst daily interactions and experiences.

Mixed Emotions

 Here I am again. Unsure of tomorrow. Feeling so unsure of what to do, what I want, mixed emotions. So Im drawn back to God. The One God who understands me more than I do myself. Lord take the lead in Jesus name. 

Amen. 

Celebrate life!!

Today is a blessing. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is open for any possibility. We can quickly get hook with social media post. Thinking we can hide behind picture perfect moments . Sometimes what is shown to the world is far from the truth. But regardless of how you feel ,show up and be the person you intend to become. Therefore it is better to celebrate every moment ,every event, every moment ,every milestone everyday. Today you are here tomorrow maybe not. Nothing is guaranteed so why not make the most of every opportunity you get to celebrate your loved ones and even just yourself. It's better to celebrate yourself than waiting on others. Dont prepare for disappointments. Your are driver of your life and by God's grace you will be who He intends you to be.

 Dear God

Today is a day that I have no idea to face. Today I feel out of my strength. Today I have no idea  of how to raise the young boy I wish to become a beautiful, handsome young man. How do I take care of a boy this size. I have never had this experience before. On this days I wish that there was a manually set out to do this. Dear Lord , my God I have needed you in the past to show me and You have showed me. Today is the day that I come again to You and I ask that You show me what to do, say and to be. God You are my best friend today. Today it will be me and You and I will listen to Your voice. I open my heart this morning to You and say "God let Thy will be done".

MOTHER

Motherhood is beautiful yet not always easy to walk in. There are days when women feel down and out. Plain tired emotionally and physically. It is in those days you and me should just take time out and make time to refresh in order to carry on with the daily tasks. It can be draining on your physical health if you do not put time aside to reflect, regroup and restart. 

It's a privilege be called Mom and no one deserve to be treated ill as a woman. Eventhough some may not have gave birth to children themselves ,they are also seen as Mother figures in someone' s lives. Just because you didn't give birth to a child does not make you any less than being a mother. 

Our purposes is different in life but at the end it has a way of  intertwining into one another. So do not regard yourself useless if you don't have children. There are no timeframe to anything in life and do not compare yourself as mothers. 

Maybe you have lost a mom and this year it's difficult for you to celebrate Mothersday. Embrace it my dear friend. Gods comfort 🙏 is around you. His angels are giving you the strength to hold on to the good memories and know you are loved by our Heavenly Father. 

He after all is close to the brokenhearted. Let's learn from each other and pray for each other. We all surely need prayer to master the Motherhood journey.

Loyalty has an expiration date!

We often feel obliged to hang on to relationships or friendships because of loyalty. We tend to be the nice person forgetting the other parties no longer are loyal to you because their loyalty has expired a long time ago. It is not your fault that they are no longer loyal ,it's just that you were being so nice not to see the signs. 

When you should allow family, friends or a relationship to go , let it go!. You don't have to force something that are not worth all your time and effort. There is a season and a reason for everything under the sun.

Stop forcing something that no longer serves a purpose in your life. Reflect on the cons and pros and embrace the new opportunities coming your way. You have so much to see, explore and relive to hold on to things and people that only cause you heartache and pain. 

Become the driver of your life once again. Thank the lessons learned and move on.
