Dear future self

I have no idea where I will be in 5 years from now. Do you perhaps know?

What I really do want is to look back at this post knowing I never gave up on believing , dreaming, striving and becoming better in everything I do. As I am laying here in bed on a Sunday afternoon ,taking our usual Sunday afternoon nap, there are so many things going through my mind. 

I am reminded of my growing up years. It is as if I am digging into memories I cant remember so good anymore. My aim however is to put the puzzle together. From where I have started until now. How life really become what we make of it.

How every dream we have fall into place once we start to chase it down. The effort we make to accomplish it regardless of all the obstacles and hardships. I am so grateful for all the naysayers , all the impossibilities,  all the negative circumstances I had to endure. It made me more determined to try again. 

I tried so many things to get a work . The multiple job applications I completed . The interviews that I missed because of transport. The jobs that I thought I would get but never did. 

I thank my Heavenly Father for a bright future I can look forward too. I am really not longing to have more things because what I have now is so much mpre precious. I have a beautiful family. A wonderful husband, a handsome son and a bright little girl. What more can I ask for? 

To my future self I want to say" Well done"! You went after what you wanted. There were times you thought it is impossible. But you did it. That dream, that desire that has been placed in your heart , you got it now!!

I mean there were a time in my life when I thought I would not get married. I said no its not possible because our family does not do weddings.  But God made it possible. What are you telling your future self?

Im excited of what the future holds for me. I am not allowing my past to hold me back anymore.  I am tired of comparing myself with others and I am focusing on my journey from now on. Yes , i am unique and I a have assignment to complete on my own. It is set out for me and me alone and no one else can walk it out for me. 

Its time to look at that future self and start to like him or her!!. Life is so precious and to be able to breathe at this very moment is a miracle. Many people did not see the day because of sickness, hunger , fear for the future and gave up on life. Dont let the pandemic put fear in your heart. This too shall pass. 

Start to focus on your magnificent future self. In 5years be the person you said you want to become. Celebrate small victories along the way and never stop learning and becoming better an better in what you do.

Maybe you feek stuck in what you are doing right now buy what about what you can do about it. Why dont you change the way you look at it. There must be a reason why you are doing what you are doing. Dig deeper in yourself for what you were called to do. 

Find the real you and excel in it!!. The joy of the Lord is our strenght so know that life outside God is not going to be so fruitful at all. We think we can depend on our own strength but it all is beacsue of God. He is in control of our lives and He allows things in our lives to work out for the good. 

Hello future self !! I love you, I celebrate you, you are awesome, you are a star, you are unique and I like your effort to impact. 

Have a beautiful next 5 years of your life. I salute you!!!

Life without Christ

Have you ever thought you are ok just by hearing about God? 

Yes you know about God but you never experienced him personally.

Well that was me almost 4 years ago. I thought I was fine because I read my bible. I prayed at times. I also knew there are certain things right in Gods eyes and certain things that are sins. 

Well I did not worry to much when I went out partying because I always came back the next week and repent. It went all like this all the time. 

I kept journals of these repentance conversations.  I thought I was good. You know you are doing things that you are not suppose to do. There are always that voice inside of you that tells you to stop, go this way or that way. 

I thought I could live a double life. Be someone at home with my parents and family and totally a diffrent person when I am with colleagues and friends. When I look back at the past I can really see now where I went wrong and where I tried to make God happy in my own strenght.

I tried a life without Christ. I had no personal relationship with him because I thought that I first have to finish with certain sins. I thought I am not ready yet to become a boring person that does not drink or that goes to clubs. I wanted to be part of the group and enjoy life. 

How blind can one be. I mean God does not want perfection  because no one is. Only Him God is perfect. My life looked great from the outside. Money was good. I could support my parents and my son . Everything was hunky dory but there was something missing. I had bad relationships with friends I called boyfriends that time. Every relationship just did not worked out.

I realise now I was looking for something only God could fill. Past failures are there to build us to become better then we were. It is a lesson and not a life sentence. We dont have to stay in the situations that we dont like, that does not fulfill us. 

I learned that the One who made me should be placed first  in my life. God knew me better than anyone and all I was looking for is found in Him. 

He is a father, friend, lover, companion and I just had to surrender to Him. God broke me graciously so I could be made whole again. He filled me up with His love, His kindness and His mercy.  If it had not been for God who took me back into His family I would not have been able to write this right now. 

I am so thankful to God that I could get the chance to fix my relationship with Him . To walk with Him and know that there are no sins between us that can keep me from talking to Him.

Yes I am not perfect and I do still sin but now I am not condemn anymore but convicted. The Holy Spirit let me do things that are acceptable to God. We should come as we are to God and not wait for when we think we are perfect.  God wants the glory for making you whole again.

Life without Christ is a  waste of your precious time. Things dont work out because you have the wrong priorities.  You have idols and do not worship God with your mind, heart, all your strenght and your soul. 

Give everything to God and let Him start to fix you and mould you and shape you. Its a beautiful journey. Fix your eyes on Jesus everytime you want to be reminded of your past. 

Its a wonderful journey with God. Yes it is not easy but surely worth it. I am no longer  a slave but I am a child of God. 

I have victory !!Im redeemed and I am free!!. 

Thank You Jesus Christ the son of God our Father. Thank for the Holy Spirit who lives within me and comfort me in everything I do.

A changed mind

How you look at things daily has the ability to lead to the results you expect.  Are you seeing the world as a bad place? Then you will only see the bad in it.

How are you looking at things in general?

There are many reasons to believe that the world is a bad place to live in. With all the crimes in the world , we sometimes give up on our dreams and beliefs in life. 

We can easily become entangled with the thoughts of the world. Easily fall into the trap of negative thinking and demonstrating bad vibes.

It is easy to follow the crowd by doing what everyone else does. It can be that you start drinking, smoking, clubbing or even having meaningless relationships with men or women. This has become acceptable in society and seems like it is part of life. It is so accepted that no one sees anything wrong with it. This is when the wrong has become the norm as a pastor preached one sermon. 

There must be a reference  where we get the idea that things done even wrongly are ok.   It can be the group of friends you are hanging out with, your social club, your youth group or whatever reference you have. This is the place where you are influence in  your thinking which lead to doing and eventually forming your character. 

If you and I today must reflect on all we experienced in life. Looking at the influences we had, the actions that followed and the results it brought, we can evaluate which ones were fruitful or not. 

This started because of the mindset you had at the time. The way you looked at things and how you applied it eventually in your life. What is so important is that we should be able to grow through all the things we went through. That we should be able to exstinguish between the good and the bad choices we made in life. 

There comes a point in life that we need to become the change that we want to see. This when we need to change our thinking and make up our minds towards what we wish to accomplish. 

Its is easy to achieve anything you want when you have a changed mindset about something. It is difficult to see from your own view the wrong choices. It sometines takes long to come to the realisation that you are on the wrong path. Everyone are not fortunate enough to determine when they are going in the wrong direction.

That is why it is so important to be surrounded with the right crowd. The people that will give you positive guidance and equipping you with right tools to become successful in life. 

The people you allow in your space should encourage you to grow personally and professionally. When your friends or social club has no ambition in life or no dreams they want to achieve , you are in the wrong crowd. If life is all about having fun and enjoying the right- now moment , you are heading in the wrong direction.

Make up your mind right now to change your lanes from degrading to upgrading your social influence. A changed mind about anything has the capacity to achieve anything. Whatever you set your mind on can become your reality.

You need to become so determined that you are willing to do anything to escape a life of fruitlessness. Sometimes it may take years before you become aware of your bad choices you made,  but whenever you do , make that change in you mind immediately ..

Become determine to see different results from your choices you make towards growing as an individual. You should be impacting the world around you by becoming a change agent.  

We all have desires to become better but sometimes we loose it along the way when our focus goes onto the wrong path. When we become distracted and directed into paths leading to no results except feelings of resemtment. 

Today is the day you should make up your mind to become who you were made to be. God is the One who made us and God is the only influencer you need .

He is the One who changes our thoughts when we focus our whole mind on Him. He is the beginning of all things and the end of all. Your belief should be your source towards fruitful  results that you were made for.

Reflect on your life and decide whether you are satisfied with the results you have obtained this far.

Pushing at all costs

How far will you go to reach your goals in life?
Have you reach any of it thus far?

It is so easy to start at the beginning of a year with all the new ideas, goals, and awesome visions. We all have the enthusiam to jump into the part of going for that dream job, writing that book, starting that business but along the way that vision dimmed away.

Why is that we are so hyped up at the beginning of a project and in the middle we become lazy to continue? Well, I dont have the exact reasons for it but I personnally feel its lack of self-discipline
We cannot expect beautiful results if no work has been done.

 Do you really think you will be paid for doing nothing at a job? I dont think so and so do you. We need to put in the effort to accomplish what  we wish to achieve in our lives. There will  be times when you have to push through at the cost of your own pleasures. Your determination will ensure a great reward.

The place we found ourselves in today is the result of our choices we made. Its either we did not try hard enough to push through our obstacles or we gave up before we tried. In life we ought to make mistakes but it should be a lesson for us to examine. 

It is not that easy though to learn from mistakes because we tend to repeat things eventhough we already know the outcome. It is difficult to become free from cycles formed over the years through repetitive poor choices made. How do one break free from such vicious cycles?

Well you wont be able to do it on your own strenght. The sooner you realise you need help from above , the One who created you and made you in His own image. We can try to run away from God but He has a way of waiting on us to come to Him because He created you and me for Himself. 

We want to push through to reach our potential but there are things, friends, idols keeping us from moving forward. It is not easy as it may sound but it is definitely possible when you made up your mind completely.

Stop running away from your destiny. It is found in God and with Him you can push at any cost. It will not be in your strenght but in Gods strenght.

Those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strenght and their drive to live. Are you that one that want renewed strenght? 

You might have tried some things that did not work out but that should not keep you from trying again.It is easy to quit ,  to forsake your dream but the fruit of such a choice is not good. It will always leave a feeling of resentment, insecurity and fear. 

Fear of applying again for that oppertunity of a lifetime. Fear to create your own legacy. What are holding you back? 

There is no excuse in the book that determine  that you do not qualify to be successful.In fact all of us are entitle to prosperity when we become children of God. 

Do you still believe in God in the midst of all this Covid -19 pandemic. Well if you dont , you better get your act together because if you want diffrent results  you shall make  better choices.

The most important thing we should do is to push through whatever you endeavor in life. 

Gods mercy has  the  ability to rewrite your story. He changes your eyes of the heart to see everything life were  because of God' grace.

You don't have to reach a down - and -out experience with your gift planted in you. Get up and dust yourself off.

 It is not as bad as it sound or look likes.  There are people depending on you..If not doing it for yourself think of those who you do it for. 

Stop having bad  thoughts of yourself that you miss opertunities knocking.

May God strengthen  you that you can fulfill what He planned for you.

Bridge Builders

Do you know people who you regard as bridge builders in your life?

People that are in your life that help you at the cost of their own time. People that goes an extra mile for you. People that will give their last because of you. People who are happy when they can lend a hand in need even if they are left with nothing.

This is the type of people I would call bridge builders on my journey of life. They were the ones who saw potential when others saw only a dead street. They saw an oppertunity to invest when others saw a  lost case.

The bridge builders in my life were the teachers in primary school who inspired me into being the best even if it was tough at home. They saw something and planted seeds that made me realise I can be whatever I choose to be. 

Yes, there were potholes along the road but still light came through even if it was only a glimpse. The glimpse of a family friend who lend a helping hand by offering  a taxi fare to go for that life-changing interview, became another bridge builder. 

The pastor and family who offer you a sleeping place for the night whilst preparing for the interview the next day. The very same people who take you to the interview and spend their entire day away from their daily obligations. I call them also bridge builders.

As you embark on the new journey of working and starting to get your own money , you are overwhelmed with the amount of money you get. Never did you think you would be able to have your own pocket money. 

Especially when you think back of how you would walk to town during hostel off-days receiving no pocket money. This was  because there were not always to give and you would walk back empty handed.

During this times I came across bridge builders once more. Roomies who would share there pocket money. Its the little things that make you treasure the big things in life. 

One can not emphasise enough how extremely thankful I am for everything that I had gone through. So many  bad, sad, unhappy, fearful, shameful, regretful days were there but when I remember all the bridge builders that came along ,it replaces all the negative experiences.

How can you thank all these people? Are they aware of the footprints they left?.

Old school friends who made history with you. Primary teachers, Highschool teachers,  family, family friends, neighbours, strangers, youth leaders, pastors,  all played a part who I am.

Nobody is an island.

We all need someone. We all have a part to play in the upbringing of a new born baby in any society. 

These are just some of the many bridge builders which made me realise how everyone has a obligation to plant a seed in someone's life.  

A tree is known by its fruit. Good or bad . A tree is meant to bring forth fruit. A tree has his seed within his fruit. 

What type of fruit are you? Good or bad? What seed are you planting? Seed to develop or seed to downgrade?

Choose to be a tree that brings forth good fruit and sowing seed that grow for greatness.

Become a bridge builder for someone today.

You can be a helping hand just where you are. Look around you. Someone need just a push into the next oppertunity.
